Alternative Lodging From Luxury cabins to Eco Tents – one of the fastest growing touristic offerings

Alternative lodging is now well and truly established in the Middle East. Initial developments in this space, particularly in the UAE focused on luxury desert resorts, but now we are also seeing enormous growth in more family friendly eco style resorts emerging across the region.

In this session, we will discuss the future of this segment of the market across the GCC in the coming years. We look at the options that exist in this space from an investment point of view from luxury cabins to more cost-efficient tented accommodation. We will go into detail on the curation of the visitor experience around this type of lodging and the activation ideas that compliment it, in particular across the Eco, Wellness, Agri and Adventure (EWAA) tourism space. Finally, we will look at the role that this type of accommodation can play in providing temporary lodging for pop up activation events and larger scale events, which are of particular relevance as we look towards the post-covid environment.
